Tagging Instructions: Immediately upon killing a turkey, the hunter must complete a temporary transportation tag stating the hunter’s full name, address, sex of the turkey, license number, and date.  The turkey must then be reported either online, in person at a checking station, or by calling 800-419-1326 within 48 hours.

 

Noteworthy Restrictions: You must be a licensed turkey hunter in order to assist another hunting or aid in calling in a turkey, if you are hunting on a DNR property managed by the Division of Fish and Wildlife,  legal hunting hours are from a half hour before sunrise to noon Central Time.   Legal shotguns are 10ga and smaller shooting #4 – 7 1/2 shot or #9 and #10TSS.  Combination loads using shot sizes other than these are illegal. Non toxic shot is required on some DNR properties. Hunting hours end at noon central or 1pm eastern on DNR properties.
